By requesting a quote, placing an order, or engaging the services of Ervin Windows and Doors, you agree to the following terms. Please read them carefully.
- About Us
Ervin Windows and Doors (“Ervin,” “we,” “us”) is a dealer, installer, and servicer of Marvin Windows and Doors, interior doors, and interior trim. We operate showrooms in Williamsburg VA, Virginia Beach VA, and Grandy NC, and serve surrounding regions including the Outer Banks and Eastern Shore of Virginia.
- Quotes & Estimates
All quotes and estimates are based on information provided at the time of request and are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated in writing. Quotes are not binding contracts. Final pricing is confirmed upon a signed estimate/proposal and accompanying deposit, both of which are required before any order is placed or work is scheduled.
- Prices may change if project scope, specifications, or materials change after a quote is issued.
- Manufacturer price increases affecting special-order products will be communicated promptly. You may accept the revised price or cancel without penalty before production begins.
- Verbal estimates are approximations only. Written quotes govern.
- No-pressure policy: Our sales staff is committed to a no-pressure sales approach. We believe the right decision is one you feel fully confident in.
- Education first: We are dedicated to ensuring you fully understand your purchase. We will take as much time as you need to review your proposal. We ask that you read it carefully and bring any questions to us before signing — no question is too small.
- Orders, Deposits & Payments
A signed estimate/proposal and deposit are required before any product is ordered or work is scheduled. Deposit requirements are specified in your project agreement (see Section 5 for window-specific deposit terms).
- Special-order products (including Marvin windows and doors) are non-refundable once production has begun.
- Final payment is due upon substantial completion of the work. Final payment shall not be withheld in an amount exceeding the actual cost of any backordered product or service items pending delivery; all other completed portions of the work are due upon substantial completion.
- Unpaid balances past 30 days may be subject to a finance charge of 1.5% per month (18% annually) and collection costs.
- We accept checks, ACH, and major credit cards. A processing fee may apply to credit card payments.
- Order Cancellations & Changes
Most window and door orders cannot be cancelled after the order is placed without substantial costs to the customer. When you place an order with us, it simultaneously activates multiple supply, fabrication, and logistics chains at the manufacturer — a process that begins immediately and is difficult or impossible to reverse. We are always willing to inquire about cancellation or modification on your behalf, but we cannot guarantee any outcome once the order has been submitted.
- Installation & Scheduling
A deposit of 50% of the total order value is required at the time a window order is placed. This deposit allows us to schedule your installation in advance of product arrival and to purchase the installation materials required for your specific job. Installation is optional. If installation is not selected, your product will be delivered as soon as it is received from the manufacturer.
- If you are not ready to receive delivery, we will store your product at no charge for up to 30 days. After 30 days, a monthly storage fee will be assessed based on the size and volume of your order.
- Installation requests added after an order has been placed will be scheduled once the product arrives and are subject to the availability of our installation crews at that time.
- Customer is responsible for ensuring the installation area is accessible, clear of obstructions, and that any required permits are in place prior to our arrival.
- Any concealed conditions discovered during installation (e.g., rot, structural issues, code deficiencies) are not included in the original quote and will be quoted separately. Ervin is not responsible for delays caused by manufacturer lead times, weather, permitting, or circumstances outside our control. A responsible adult (18+) must be present during installation.
- Warranty
Product Warranty: Marvin Windows and Doors products are covered by Marvin’s limited manufacturer warranty. Copies are available upon request or at www.marvin.com.
Workmanship Warranty: Ervin warrants all installation labor against defects in workmanship for one (1) year from the date of installation completion. This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, settlement, acts of nature, or alterations made by others.

- Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ervin’s total liability for any claim arising from our products or services shall not exceed the amount paid by the customer for the specific work at issue. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
- Website Use
Content on www.ervinwindows.com is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute a binding offer. We reserve the right to update pricing, product availability, and content at any time without notice.
- Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Virginia. Customers in North Carolina agree that Virginia law applies to all transactions.
- Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. The current version is always available at www.ervinwindows.com. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any revised Terms.
